French EU Presidency 2022 - What Happened in the EU since January

The French EU Presidency (PFUE) is marked by the war in Ukraine, which has shifted the priorities in current EU policy. At the same time, France's Presidency was seen as extremely ambitious and wanted to advance major projects of the European Union, including new laws for the digital space, a Western Balkans conference, and the strengthening of police cooperation. In this crucial situation, the French government(s) had to respond to the new challenges at the European level.

What is the overall balance of the six-month PFUE which achievements have been made, and how has France reacted to the war in Ukraine during the Presidency?

As head of the Representation of the European Commission in Paris, Valérie Drezet-Humez has a special insight into what is happening from a European perspective. Join the Webinar and exchange with her.

LET'S MAKE EUROPE A
BETTER PLACE

United in diversity – that’s the motto we share at MeetEU! Since April 2020, we have been organizing weekly events with Members of the European Parliament, European Commission representatives, EU activists and scientists. At our events, participants can discuss their ideas directly with decision-makers and experts.

Our mission is to bring EU citizens closer to EU politics. Our event participants join from all over Europe. We all come from different backgrounds. But once a week, we come together with one goal: to share perspectives and make Europe a better place.

MeetEU is a project run by volunteers
